2026 1 oz France Silver Lord of the rings PP

To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the cinema release of the first chapter of Peter Jackson's trilogy, Monnaie de Paris will unveil a collection of precious coins dedicated to the legendary Lord of the Rings series in 2026. 

From the Shire to Mordor, the perilous journey of the Fellowship of the Ring is now engraved in metal, celebrating a mythical saga that has become a true pillar of the fantasy genre.

The designs on these coins were created by the engraving workshop at Monnaie de Paris, based on illustrations from The Lord of the Rings saga.

The One Ring is featured at the center of the coin; sparkling and golden, it draws all eyes and arouses desire. This element is highlighted by the high-relief strike combined with a selective application of gold and bronze-colored metal. 

Throughout the story, Frodo struggles to resist its hold. Gandalf himself warns him not to be tempted by this object of power, to which he might all too easily succumb. Gollum, driven mad by the Ring’s power, will seek to seize it by any means necessary. The Witch-King of Angmar, long since lost to Sauron’s cause, seeks to recover the Ring and return it to his master. Beyond the Ring, one can see the Eye of Sauron, which sees all from its lair in the desolate lands of Mordor. 

The reverse of this coin depicts the One Ring, towering over the Eye of Sauron. The Ring’s secret inscription in Elvish is revealed here by the flames of Mount Doom. Each reverse side is engraved with the coin’s face value, the hallmarks of the Monnaie de Paris, the letters RF (French Republic), the year 2026, and the New Line Production copyright for The Lord of the Rings saga.
